In the early weeks of May our team travelled to the beautiful Northern Ireland with @abdngeologyโ๏ธ
Thank you to @aberdeenuni for inviting us to join your incredible #students#fieldwork and aid in their learning experience ๐
We're always glad to share our expertise
Many thanks to @RSK_Geophysics for their support - providing kit and software, helping students to be trained in industry standard procedures! Everything was made possible by landowners and the National Trust for providing land access and @AFBI_NI NAP teamย for facilitating. 3/4
They used ERT, GPR, magnetics, self-potential, seismic refraction, MASW, FEM, TEM to
look at glacial deposits, weathering, depth to bedrock, faults and tertiary dykes and geological boundaries as well as preferential recharge and groundwater flow pathways in 2D and 3D. 2/4
Our @msc_geophysics students have just got back from Northern Ireland where they've been getting hands-on experience in a range of cutting-edge acquisition, processing and interpretation techniques to look at the near-surface and deeper geological features. 1/4
Think this could be you next year? There's still time to apply for the @msc_geophysics starting in September 2023, and scholarships from @RSK_Geo, @DataLabScotland and NEO Energy still open for applications!
๐จ๐จ@DataLabScotland & @UoAGeosciences offering 2 scholarships to help cover the cost of tuition for Scotland-based* students commencing @msc_geophysics in September 2023.
Just apply & we'll get in touch with details...more info:
