SCMS 8th graders had a surprise visitor today in WV Studies via Zoom. Thank you @BenSalango for speaking to them and taking time out of your busy schedule.

I was so proud to watch students in Mrs. Holland’s 8th grade WV Studies class at South Charleston Middle School reenact the debate between Gov. Justice and me.

She surprised them by Zooming me in to watch the debate. Great job! Our future is bright.

If a student turns something in late, it doesn’t mean the student has less understanding of the content.
An assignments turned in on time doesn’t mean the student knows the content more. Meeting deadlines is important but it can be reordered separately.

-have been traumatized
-have little hope for the future
-haven’t experienced success, love or joy
-have been repeatedly disappointed by adults
-haven’t learned to regulate emotions
