I built a Chrome extension called TextCaseConverter.

If you work on a PC all day, you know the pain: you type a whole sentence and realize it's in the wrong case. Now you're retyping it like it's 2005.

I got tired of doing that.

So I decided to build a simple tool to solve this problem.

Why a Chrome extension? Because that's where I spend 80% of my working hours.

The solution should live where the problem lives.

How does it work?
→ Highlight any text on any webpage
→ Open the extension
→ Pick your conversion (uppercase, lowercase, title case, sentence case, or toggle case)

If the text is in an editable field (like a text box or Google Docs), it replaces it in place.

If it's on a regular webpage, it transforms and copies it to your clipboard.

Under the hood, it's a Manifest V3 Chrome extension. A content script runs on every page, listening for messages from the popup.

When you click a button, it grabs your selection, checks whether it's in an input, a contenteditable
element, or plain page text, then it handles each case differently.

No backend. No API calls. Everything runs locally in your browser.

The UI? Wack. I'll be honest.

But it solves the problem. And that was the whole point.
