Many of my colleagues in medicine would like to speak out more but don’t want to risk their livelihood. We are not going to see any improvement in our health care if actual experts are intimidated into politically correct silence.

Our patient with Covid pneumonia on 70% & PEEP 14 writing to me about her scary dream. She started crying and desaturated and said she’s thankful not to be heavily sedated so she can communicate. Don’t assume heavy sedation is necessary. Every patient’s needs are different.
