AI veteran (est. 1989), chart topping games dev, then TRIDENT targeteer for the RN, back in AI now that it actually works and applying it to Social Impact.
@Cleo_Compliance I agree entirely.
Standards, Legislation, Audits - these are no pretty add-ons, they're more akin to manuals you can't ignore. Unfortunately many at the C-suite devolve to techs, and many techs check them off just before pressing "Push to Production" Both are wrong.
In 5 months AI accessed by the 453.3m citizens, businesses in the EU fall under the EU AI Act. They've given us 2 years to get ready.
Anyone on your Board told you what you need to do about that?
Anyone told you how you can get an operating advantage?

New AI tools. Same budget. Different outcomes. Business hasn't changed; it all comes down to optimising cost and improving performance or quality. The difference has always been clarity.
@AnthropicAI New tools. Same budget. Different outcomes. The difference is always clarity. Without knowing what you're going to use with these tools, in traditional terms, you're nowhere. There are only really two things to business: optimising costs and improving performance/quality.

@RestIsPolitics@ezraklein Anyone who want a clear eyed view on US politics, listen to this: https://t.co/GURRsYwq1L A coherent discussion about the shift from debate on policy to debate on whether the Gov System itself is working. It goes to the heart of the matter.
@RestIsPolitics#Leading Re: your recent with Peter Kyle. My question concerns copyright and creative arts. Understand that the established creatives are concerned. What is your view about the emerging creatives who can use AI as a tool? E.g. The death of CDs did not kill music.
@RestPoliticsUS@Scaramucci On the latest podcast about the growing victimhood of white young blokes - yes! Spot on! @KattyKay_ rebuttal was interesting but didn't hit the mark. However, interaction between you two guys is EXACTLY the antidote. BTW, Katty, you're awesome ;-)
