When do we start holding people accountable for their own actions?
So far in this trial, it feels like everyone else is being assigned some portion of the blame except Lindsay Clancy.
She sought psychiatric help. She was referred to therapy. She saw multiple providers. Yet I keep hearing the argument that the professionals treating her should not have relied on what she told them because psychiatric patients can minimize symptoms, withhold information, or fear the consequences of being completely honest.
I understand that happens.
But psychiatrists are not mind readers.
At some point, treatment requires a patient to participate honestly enough for the clinician to understand what is happening. If every denial of suicidal or homicidal thoughts has to be treated as potentially false, how does a psychiatrist build trust, assess risk, or create a treatment plan?
If you seek help but do not fully disclose your symptoms, who bears responsibility when the treatment is based on incomplete information?
If you do not follow through with therapy or a treatment plan, who is responsible when you do not improve?
If your symptoms worsen but you decline outpatient or inpatient treatment, how much responsibility can reasonably be placed on the clinician?
That does not mean the medical system gets a pass. I actually think psychiatric care has serious problems. Treatment can be fragmented, medications can be overused, and the number of different prescriptions Lindsay obtained in such a short period raises questions for me about coordination and monitoring.
I also think all of the doctors should have obtained her prior records and coordinated her care.
But those are criticisms of the system. They do not automatically make the system responsible for every decision Lindsay made before January 24th.
Dr. Tufts appears deeply affected by what happened, especially given how early Lindsay was in her career as a psychiatrist. But hindsight is powerful. Reddington is also an excellent defense attorney. He is very good at taking ordinary clinical decisions and, knowing what ultimately happened, making them sound inexplicable.
The question I keep coming back to is this:
What were these doctors realistically supposed to do with the information Lindsay was actually giving them at the time?
So far, I have not heard evidence that she was presenting as someone they could legally hold against her will.
Maybe the defense experts will explain what the treating doctors missed. I’m open to that.
But I also think we have to leave room for another possibility: Lindsay Clancy was an active participant in her own treatment decisions, and she bears some responsibility for those decisions too.
My wife raised five kids. Two are married now.
This week, she wrote out her job description for the new season. Mother of married children. I have not stopped thinking about it.
Her list:
Love their spouses like my own children.
Pray for their marriages. Daily.
Encourage them when it gets hard. It gets hard.
Never assume authority in their home. I have none there.
Never speak a negative word about their spouse. To them or to anybody.
Support their decisions as a couple without feeling entitled to an opinion.
Model what I want them to become. Character. Forgiveness. Growth.
And the last one. The one that costs the most:
Accept that I now hold a less important place in my children's lives. And accept it with grace.
Twenty-four years married. She learned the hardest job a mother ever gets is the demotion.
Nobody teaches this.
She just did.
Ladies, get married to a good man as young as you’re able and have your babies and do it naturally. This is a very sad public performance/display of unnecessarily unwise decision making.
🚨BREAKING: @JamesOKeefeIII just did it AGAIN, dropping a KEY BOMBSHELL exposing that non-citizens from IRAN were allowed to vote in Michigan's primary election without an ID.
America is a better place thanks to O'Keefe's reporting.
God bless him.
Here it is:
Devin Nunez VINDICATED.
Twenty CIA and FBI agents have blown the whistle, confirming that Barack Hussein Obama and his Chief of Staff, CIA Director John Brennan, created the false Russia hoax, doctored intelligence to overthrow the duly elected president of the United States in 2016, and locked the report in a CIA vault for nearly a decade.
On March 21, 2017, Devin Nunes traveled to the White House and informed President Trump that he was being overthrown.
The following day, March 22, 2017, he stood alone, holding an unexpected press conference confirming that Barack Obama had spied on Trump and the Trump campaign.
On April 17, 2017, Devin Nunes was forced to resign from the House Intelligence Committee’s Obama-Russia inquiry—because Paul Ryan is a treacherous piece of garbage.
Now, give the man the Presidential Medal of Freedom—at once.
The fact that you can’t check into a hotel until 4pm when the day is basically over but have to check out by 10am the next morning should honestly be illegal.
Every single red state AG has an opportunity to be a hero!
Indict Anthony Fauci for killing off your citizens! Hold him accountable at a state level!
Arrest Fauci, make him testify and lock this monster up!
He has the blood of millions on his hands, his precious pardon from the auto pen can save him in a state!
This is a watershed moment for medicine in the United States.
When put under oath, "The Science" pleaded the Fifth Amendment 111 times on the grounds that answering questions would expose "The Science" to criminal liability.
Illegal gain of function research
Lockdowns and masking
COVID-19 Vaccines and Vaccine mandates
All of it...one big crime.
Mainstream Medicine and Science are full of corruption, fraud and criminal activity. This photograph captures that perfectly.
This has to end.
