Today I met a tow truck driver who reminded me what real discipline looks like.

He used to drive trailers. Long journeys, long nights, sometimes only seeing his family once every 1–2 weeks.

When he wanted to start his own tow service, he told me he couldn’t even get a business loan.

No guarantor. No collateral.

So he took a personal loan instead. Higher interest, bigger risk and bought his first truck.

For five years, he paid every instalment on time.

He told me he only studied until Form 4, then continued at IKM.

No shortcuts. No special background. Just hard work and being responsible.

4 years later, he has upgraded to a better truck with automatic loading. He chooses his own hours now. Still tough, but on his terms.

He told me:

“Dalam bisnes, kena jujur.” (In business, you must be honest.)

“Jangan dengki.” (Don’t be envious.)

“Orang lain mungkin dah ada 7 lori. Itu rezeki dia. Rezeki kita lain.”

(Others may already have 7 trucks. That’s their blessing. Ours is different.)

Small steps. Slow growth. Honest work.

That’s how he did it and how most real dreams are built.
