Living away from family is one of the best decisions you can make.

Come home once in a while. Stay for 3-4 days. Meet everyone, spend time together, enjoy home-cooked food, have a good time, and get out.

You avoid the everyday unsolicited advice, unnecessary interference, and no constant questions about what you’re doing with your own life. The longer you stay, the more everyone suddenly becomes an expert on your career, marriage, money, and lifestyle.

The funny thing is, distance actually keeps relationships healthy. Sometimes staying away from your own people is exactly what keeps you close to them.

While the MEN even from the host family get to sit back, relax, chill, enjoy the food, and talk about how much they sacrifice for their families. 🙄

There’s something deeply humbling about hearing him talk about 16–17-year-olds leaving their families, their homes and every bit of comfort they’ve known to enter the NDA and begin preparing for a life of service.

And then there’s the rest of us, with our homes, comforts and everything we need within reach, yet we still find ourselves giving in to the smallest excuses and desires. I know I do.

The men of this breed are a breed apart. choosing hardship over comfort, discipline over ease, and service over self. There’s a certain kind of courage, conviction and honour they carry that is very difficult to put into words.

A different kind of respect for these men altogether. 🇮🇳
