Theres nothing more cringe than seeing Somalians celebrate Somaliland’s Independence Day as their own!
If your entire existence hinges on telling yourselves lies & fairy tales then no wonder why your country is a failed state.

Let’s break the internet!
To the people of Somaliland, at home and across the world, especially our young people:
You were born of a free people and raised under a flag earned through bloodshed, sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering belief in dignity.
The Republic of Somaliland did not appear by chance; it was reclaimed through pain, patience, and principle. Today, as hostility and hatred are once again directed at our existence, history calls upon you; not with fear, but with resolve and responsibility.
This is a defining moment. Somalilanders everywhere, those born in the Republic of Somaliland and those born in Europe, North America, the Arab world and elsewhere in the world; you carry an equal duty: defending the truth of who we are, the legitimacy of our statehood, and the right of our people to exist in peace and freedom.
There is no substitute for this responsibility, and as Somalilanders WE HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE HOMELAND WAITING FOR US!!
Therefore, defend the Republic of Somaliland with your voice, your intellect, your professionalism, your unity, and your lawful strength.
Defend it in every language, every platform, every forum, every institution, and every means justified by law, morality, and national honour. Let the enemy and partners in crime see who we are!
Somalilanders are not a people who beg for existence. We are a nation that proves it, again and again.
The Republic of Somaliland lives because its people stand for it. Always.
There will be no pandora's box we have been separate 36 yrs this has not caused any pandora box no other nation has followed somaliland separation from somallia, there will be no fragmentation of somalila becouse somalia is already fragmented.
and i encourage all those who thinking about it please wisely about it and think about the history and apportunities of the republic of somaliland.
Diaspora Alert: Expose Mogadishu’s E-Visa Scam
The so-called “e-visa” launched by the Mogadishu administration is a new form of digital extortion, an attempt to tax travellers heading to Somaliland, a country they neither govern nor control. The last time Hargeisa paid taxes to Mogadishu was in 1988.
This scheme forces travellers to pay twice: once for an e-visa that is invalid in Somaliland, and again for a genuine Somaliland visa on arrival. Under global card network rules, this qualifies for a chargeback (refund) as a “service not provided.” After diaspora members began filing chargebacks, Mogadishu quietly added this warning to its website:
“Payments … cannot be reversed or recovered through chargeback procedures … In the event of any chargeback … the applicant’s personal information, IP address, location data, and other relevant information will be utilized to file a criminal complaint with the appropriate authorities” (see screenshot).
This notice violates Visa and Mastercard rules and breaches data-protection regulations in the EU, UK and US. It forbids refunds, threatens travellers, and misuses personal data, clear indicators of a fraudulent online operation.
Any bank or payment processor handling these payments is in breach of compliance rules and could be terminated by Visa and Mastercard if chargeback rates rise. A few hundred disputes could bring this scheme down.
What You Can Do
· Do not buy the Mogadishu e-visa if you’re travelling to Somaliland.
· If you already did, file a chargeback, your Hargeisa visa proves “service not delivered.”
· Report the merchant and payment processor to your bank’s fraud team so they can add it to their watchlist
Was Somaliland ever part of Somalia before 1960?
Spoiler: No.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the real history behind British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland, and why calling Somaliland a “secessionist” state doesn’t hold up. A thread 🧵👇
According to the @freedomhouse's 2025 report, Somaliland continues to be a leading democratic nation in Eastern Africa, while Somalia remains a total anarchy. Therefore, it is imperative that all peace and democracy loving nation's to encourage freedom and democracy and officially recognise the Republic of Somaliland.
If the world continuous to prioritise engagement with anarchies over supporting democracy, then that would lead further lawlessness in the region and would truly be detrimental to global interests.
A 1991 BBC report detailed how the Hawiye clan in Mogadishu hunted down and slaughtered the Darod, while the fortunate few were able to flee and seek safety in Somaliland.

They hate you because you have peace and they’re in constant turmoil
They hate you because you’re a democracy and can decide who leads you whilst they have no say as their leader is selected in a bunker
They hate you because you’ve been self sufficient in all aspects whilst they rely on aid from foreign countries in all fields
They hate you coz you’ve made progress whilst they’re still in the same situation as 30 years ago and fill up refugee camps
They hate you because you are dignified & they’re humiliated
When they call you a secessionist, it’s not about "unity"—it’s because you're doing better, and they want you to struggle like they are.
