What kind of learning skills do we want our students to develop

#Caturday

[Melanie Sedergreen @msedergreen]

@bctf Phewf. I was panicking. Of course you are working on it. My bad for being impatient. 😂😂

[Melanie Sedergreen @msedergreen]

@bctf New site hard to navigate. Sorry but AHHH. What happened? Need to have access to some of the old research.

[Melanie Sedergreen @msedergreen]

@bctf all of these are 404 - I will stop now. Please fix

[Melanie Sedergreen @msedergreen]

@bctf all of the research has disappeared and now there is only 404. Problematic for grad research citations but also - members who want to know about our history and research. Please restore (without creating a citational nightmare)

LOVED this show. Felt conflicted every time I've travelled to colonized tropics. I know it isn't a popular position as so many educators travel on breaks, but we should reflect on the human and environmental impacts. Privileged ignorance is not an excuse.

@j_mcelroy Ticklberries OK Falls obviously

[Melanie Sedergreen @msedergreen]

Suspicious credit card activity triggers a security protocol. Why didn't something similar happen when my 70 year old mother bought thousands in bitcoin in a fraud? Lives in OK Falls her outdoor thermo had clocked 50 C 3 days in a row - super vulnerable. She feels dumb @annedrewa

Not on social much these days but - for years I've been complaining about the oppressive and privileged cult of positivity - now there's words, "toxic positivity." Need to add tho, that it 'keeps people in their place' by telling them to be grateful. https://t.co/jxNaSjfELz.

@MayorStewart Hope the city plans to promote commercial property ownership for small businesses in recovery and city planning. https://t.co/ew4iUZSyX2

[Melanie Sedergreen @msedergreen]

@TriCitiesCoC Wondering if there's been talk about promoting + commercial strata ownership in city planning and development applications. Good way to support local businesses in the recovery. Paying a mortgage better than rent. Forbes:https://t.co/Q3gA8GPOS3

@pattibacchus @jjhorgan Exhausted and unsurprised. What were the qualification criteria? Recent teaching experience? Recent experience working in a school(s)? Communications experience with educators? @TalkerTeacher listed CV details. Not at all impressive. Were there no other applicants?

[Teacher Talker @TalkerTeacher]

@pattibacchus @jjhorgan This board is problematic Old Boy’s Club (Really? Not ONE qualified female?)

Also, feels like #bced rib kicks while we’re on the ground.

Maybe we could do a daily self tracker for our whole school to participate in with 2 or 3 things we can do (including students) ie. turn off water while brushing teeth; turning lights off when out of the room; unplugging after charged. Then graph it @SD42Energy @EricLangtonSD42

[Melanie Sedergreen @msedergreen]

What? Sweater day? Come on why didn't we think of this. Maybe we could make a goal of every student getting an EL sweater that they keep at school so we can lower the heat?
