In my classroom, we normalize voice change and healthy voice development. Many young males are experiencing their new voice in a new or different way, and were able to recognize breaks, ranges, and timbres. What an eye-opening experience, especially when we do it again later!

Post-pandemic #musiceducation is looking a lot different. This week I’ve been checking MS Ss vocal ranges. For some it was the first time they had ever sung with any individual guidance. Here’s what I have seen: a thread.

I think many Ss surprised themselves with their own singing ability. A few curious Ss in each class were intrigued by the different ranges and coding systems for pitch. It’s exciting watching Ss get excited about music again!

I work at an international school with students from diverse backgrounds. Less than half of each class have been consistently attending the same school since elementary. One newly enrolled S told me only studied music history in his last school.

Not to mention @etihad still hasn’t compensated me after TWO YEARS of emails back and forth and long response times. Maybe they think they can get away with keeping their money if customers get tired of waiting???

@AmericanAir has reached a new low. 2+ hour flight delays on top of cancellations, and they think £10/person is enough for a meal in Heathrow Airport. Never giving them my business again!
