#isitok that our children are hearing they have “lost” learning and need to “catch up” with arbitrary learning goals? We don’t think so, so Mr G wrote a poem to share with our learners on Monday. https://t.co/ob2xPPZuND
Are thousands who will share this story. We came into education to make a difference and we will do. But there’s a nagging feeling we could do so much more. And that hurts. It hurts because it’s not our fault. 13/13.
@Claire_SLT It popped up in my feed and I couldn’t believe their responses. I am glad to have identified some people to block and also to follow. Take care, enjoy the weekend x
There's lots of really good #EduTwitter content, but I've found most of it to be teacher lead.
This account is to build up a Support Staff network, so please share, retweet and comment, to reach out.
I'm a big fan of all school staff 🤗💗
Instead of making offenders wear high viz jackets in chain gangs, how about helping them get a real job instead? In my shops we employ lots of ex offenders and they wear a shirt and tie. Same people, different approach, a much better outcome.
Hello #edutwitter I'm a masters student in need of your views..
Class teachers/ school staff what strategies do you use for your well-being? Are they different from methods used to support your students? #RetweeetPlease#Wellbeing#MentalHealthMatters
@iamlivyrose Your use of the commas has reminded me of @IvoGraham's fabulous observation
"Pfizer vaccine: effective, protective and safe
Modena vaccine: effective, protective and safe
Oxford vaccine: effective, protective, and safe"
- £37bn and schools still running the track and trace system.
- Government provided PPE shortages for schools.
- a recovery tsar who resigns as there is not enough committed money for effective catch up programme.
Yet school staff were the ones portrayed as work shy and lazy.
- A laptop scheme the provided devices with malware installed.
- Eden Red ordering fiasco
- Being shamed into providing free school meals during holidays.
- Releasing plans and expectations via the media rather than through proper channels.
- A pay freeze
- Adamant we’d be open then closing the next day.
- Vague key worker lists meaning huge numbers in school.
- The exam fiasco last year
- The huge workload of CAGs and TAGs
- No priority vaccines for teachers.
- Constant re-writing of history over expectations.
Just a few ‘challenges’ we have had to face:
- Last minute guidance issued.
- Last minute guidance changes.
- Inviting parents to complain to Ofsted.
- Threatening schools with legal action.
- Saying that schools have been too quick to send whole bubbles home.
@sajidjavid Such an offensive message, I haven’t been cowering, I have been protecting the community I work in, the people I live with, the people I love. To proudly use your rapid recovery to belittle those who are rightly cautious is frankly Trumpian.
