Greetings from Kyiv,
where the wind carries poplar fuzz.
I’ve been researching and writing all day long.
Now, a lecture on colonialism and culture.
Hope your Friday is (or was) gentle for you.

Trump made some statements about the riot on January 6th the other day. I thought I would pair it with some footage from the event he claimed was full of love. Over 140 law enforcement officers were injured that day some with life altering injuries. Several committed suicide.

This is so insanely corrupt, I can’t even believe it.
More than half the donors to Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom just won over $50 billion in new federal contracts in six months.
And here’s the part that should make your blood boil.
Sixteen of these 27 donors were facing federal enforcement actions, antitrust reviews, labor cases, securities charges. Many of those cases have been quietly dropped or scaled back since Trump took office. You write a check, your legal problems disappear. That’s not a coincidence.
The White House won’t even release the full donor list. They’re hiding it on purpose, because daylight is the one thing pay-to-play can’t survive. A federal judge already ruled ballroom construction has to stop until Congress authorizes it.
Government is supposed to serve the people, not auction itself off to the highest bidder. When access goes to whoever pays the most, working families always end up paying the price.
We either end the corruption, or the corruption will end us.

There’s been a lot of talk in this race about what makes a "real man."
A man does what’s right when no one is watching. He upholds his commitments to his family and neighbors. He doesn’t lie, cheat, & steal his way through life.
Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.
the fact he may carve out time to attend two basketball games merely weeks after saying he didn’t have time to attend his own son’s wedding is objectively hilarious 😂
I'm sharing this because you might know her. My dear friend, a Juilliard trained soprano, who has performed under the name Shelly the Singing Siren has had some fairly severe health problems lately. Another mutual friend set this up for her. https://t.co/Osz9hbcnlg
