The Immigration Department of #Somalia has issued a statement to provide clear information regarding the current restrictions.

They have made a specific request to all airlines operating flights originating from Europe and America, urging them to remove any imposed limitations.

Update their website about what they need for all travel to Somalia. In addition to this, @SomaliainUK needs to communicate better with the airlines & confirms visas are issued upon arrival. Then perhaps there would be no need for letters.

The Somali embassy clarifies that they did not initiate the requirement for travelers to Somalia to have a letter.

They state that the airlines introduced the visa requirement, but the embassy issued travel letters & confirmed that visas will be granted upon arrival in Somalia.

I will be travelling soon & expressed my concerns to the embassy after hearing of cases where individuals have been refused on to their flight without this letter. The Somali embassy told me I will need this letter to travel.
