@DianitzaDiaz @DrAdrianaCGlez@csubted Dianitza, I love Kahoot! I find it works well with students of all grades, and can't imagine a better way to make test prep or subject review fun!
@canet_anne@DrAdrianaCGlez@csubted Anne, that sounds like so much fun! I am sure it would also be a nice break from other activities, and help your auditory learners!
@DrAdrianaCGlez@csubted Hello! I plan to teach High School Spanish, and a tool I think would be extremely useful (especially during distance learning) is Flipgrid! It is a great way to asses the student's progress and pronunciation of the language, as well as encourage them to speak it! #EDTE4100
Currently working on my website, and enjoying the process of learning how to use technology for educational purposes/a classroom setting(virtual or traditional)! #csubedte4200
@canet_anne@sandlesd Anne, I had the same initial reaction. It was a little strange to be back on here for a completely different reason, however, I think it just takes some getting used to!
@kaylamariege@sandlesd Kayla, I agree! It also feels a little less tense to have a discussion on Twitter, which is a nice change as opposed to the typical Blackboard paragraphs.
@sandlesd I really enjoyed using Twitter for these class discussions as it was really easy and the character limit allowed for thoughts/opinions to be clear and straight to the point. I would rate it an overall 10.
@kaylamariege@sandlesd Kayla, I hadn't thought of the "live" factor, but I see why it's important! This is a method I would definitely consider to check-in on student progress from time to time.
@Hernandez101C@sandlesd Edgar, I completely agree! I also feel that as time progresses and they get more comfortable with Flipgrid, it alleviates some of the public speaking anxiety they might have felt before.
@sandlesd I believe Flipgrid is a great way to assess student learning. I feel it promotes a thoughtful response from students, as well as helping with public speaking skills by allowing multiple attempts so they can choose their words wisely, and feel comfortable about what they put out.
@bigmac1799@sandlesd Kevin, I hadn't thought about this. I am sure breaking the folders down by groups/subjects would help keep it even more organized! This is definitely something I will consider in the future!
@rubio_cristian@sandlesd Cristian, what an interesting choice! I believe that as teachers, recording videos to further explain a topic students can always refer back to would be extremely helpful for students. It is also important to note that YouTube is a highly used app amongst the youth today.
@sandlesd My favorite ed-tech platform/app is definitely Kahoot! I find that most students enjoy the idea of playing a trivia "game", and it is a nice break from lecture or the typical in-class assignments. It is also an easy way to check-in on student progress/understanding!
@adrey93 @sandlesd This is a great idea! I believe using this method would also promote the involvement of every student that forms part of their group, as Google typically tracks the progress of the document, showing all the changes made by each student.
@gecalderon91@sandlesd I really like this! I believe mentality is a very important factor of success for students, and as educators, we need to be careful with our word choices. Students typically meet the expectations of their teachers, so phrases like these are necessary!
@sandlesd Teachers can use various educational technology platforms to enhance the experience for their students. Platforms such as Remind allow students to have appropriate and relative conversations amongst themselves, or with their teachers, as well as staying informed.
