My journey in the last eight years has seen me work closely with leaders who have since departed from the Congress party, yet my allegiance remains steadfast to the principles and values upheld by the party.
While individuals come and go, my commitment to the Congress party endures.
Through my experiences, I've witnessed the ebb and flow of leadership, but it is the enduring ethos of the Congress party that resonates with me.
Despite the exodus of leaders, my dedication to the Congress party stems from its long-standing commitment to social justice, inclusivity, and the empowerment of ordinary citizens. These values resonate deeply with my own beliefs and convictions.
Furthermore, my loyalty extends beyond individuals to the larger vision of progress and equality that the Congress party represents. It is a vision that transcends transient political alliances and personal ambitions.
In times of change and transition, it is more important than ever to remain anchored to the foundational principles that define us.
My unwavering support for the Congress party is a testament to my belief in its enduring mission to build a stronger, more equitable India for all.
It is an honour to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha from the beautiful state of Karnataka.
I am deeply grateful to Congress President Shri Mallikarjun @kharge, CPP Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition Shri @RahulGandhi, General Secretary (Organisation) @kcvenugopalmp, and General Secretary Smt. @priyankagandhi and General Secretary Communications, Shri @Jairam_Ramesh for their faith in me and for their constant guidance, encouragement and support.
I hope to prove worthy of the trust and confidence that the leadership has reposed in me.
As to those who are congratulating me on the culmination of my ‘tapasya,’ I have only this to say: the journey is far from over.
My ‘tapasya’ will truly be over only the day Shri @RahulGandhi takes oath as the Prime Minister of India in 2029.
@waglenikhil sir, The problem isn’t that you refuse to call Congress the sole champion of secularism. The problem is that people who make this argument almost always reserve their harshest criticism for Congress while expecting Congress alone to fight the battle against the BJP.
For decades, every political force that claimed to be an alternative eventually collapsed, compromised, or aligned with the very forces it claimed to oppose. Congress alone remained the principal national barrier against communal politics.
You don’t have to worship Congress. But pretending that Congress and every other party have contributed equally to defending India’s secular and constitutional framework is historically illiterate.
Some people are so obsessed with proving they are “not pro-Congress” that they end up normalising the very politics they claim to resist.
Neutrality loses credibility when it becomes selective outrage. And secularism loses defenders when those who benefit from Congress’s resistance spend their time weakening Congress instead.
Heartiest congratulations to @DKShivakumar on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. This is not merely a personal achievement but the culmination of decades of unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and steadfast loyalty to the Congress Party. His journey stands as a reminder that persistence, commitment, and faith in the organization are ultimately rewarded.
In an era where politics is increasingly driven by personal ambition and instant gratification, Karnataka has delivered an important lesson in loyalty, institutional respect, and political wisdom.
D.K. Shivakumar’s rise to the highest office in the state is a testament to his remarkable commitment to the party. Through victories and setbacks, he remained one of the Congress’ most dependable leaders, carrying the organization on his shoulders during some of its most challenging phases. His elevation as Chief Minister is not just a political decision, it is recognition of years of sacrifice and tireless service.
Equal credit is due to @siddaramaiah, a true party man and statesman. As a leader with immense mass appeal and a distinguished record as Chief Minister, he demonstrated that the interests of the party and the people must come before personal considerations. His graceful handling of the transition and his continued commitment to strengthening the Congress reflect political maturity of the highest order. Notably, it was Siddaramaiah himself who proposed D.K. Shivakumar’s name as leader of the Congress Legislature Party, reinforcing the spirit of unity within the organisation.
Behind this seamless transition lies the political astuteness of @RahulGandhi. Time and again, he has shown an ability to balance competing aspirations, accommodate powerful regional leaders, and preserve unity without public acrimony. Managing a transition involving two towering leaders while ensuring that the party emerges stronger requires patience, judgment, and strategic foresight.
The Karnataka transition is therefore more than a change of guard. It is a story of a loyal soldier finally receiving his due, a seasoned statesman putting the party above self, and a national leader ensuring that the larger organization remains united and focused on governance.
Congratulations once again to D.K. Shivakumar. May his tenure bring progress, prosperity, and effective governance to the people of Karnataka while strengthening the ideals and values that have shaped the Congress movement for generations.
The people of Karnataka placed their trust in us, and that trust remains our greatest responsibility.
Warm congratulations to CM Shri D.K. Shivakumar ji and the Council of Ministers, who will carry forward the aspirations of the people of Karnataka.
My sincere thanks to Shri Siddaramaiah ji, whose leadership and service have strengthened Karnataka and improved millions of lives.
The Congress party’s guarantees remain the foundation of our governance and commitment to social justice.
We will keep listening, delivering, and serving the people of Karnataka.
Few political statements have aged as poorly as Narendra Modi’s election-time warning that @INCIndia would take away the gold of India’s women and even their mangalsutras.
It was a remarkable claim, designed not to inform, but to frighten. Not to debate policy, but to provoke emotion. Gold was transformed from a household asset into a political weapon.
Today, reports suggest that India’s central bank may have sold a portion of the country’s gold reserves amid pressure on the rupee and foreign exchange reserves. Whether the sale was justified or not is a matter for economists. But the political irony is impossible to miss.
The man who built an election campaign around the fear that Congress would take away gold now finds himself presiding over an economy where questions are being asked about the nation’s own gold reserves.
The issue here is bigger than gold.
It is about a style of politics that thrives on accusations but struggles with accountability.
For twelve years, every economic challenge was blamed on someone else. Congress. Nehru. Global conspiracies. Previous governments. Yet when difficult economic realities emerge under the BJP’s watch, the rhetoric suddenly changes. The same voices that once shouted from rooftops about national wealth now seek refuge in technical explanations and reserve management theories.
India has seen genuine economic crises before.
In 1991, when the country faced an unprecedented balance-of-payments emergency, the Congress government did not invent enemies or launch fear campaigns. It took difficult decisions, acknowledged reality and initiated reforms that transformed India into a modern economic power. The leadership of that era confronted the crisis; it did not campaign on manufactured anxieties.
That is the difference.
One leadership treated citizens as adults capable of understanding economic realities. The other often treats fear as a political strategy.
No one should object to legitimate reserve management by the RBI. But if gold became a political issue when it suited the BJP, then questions about India’s gold reserves are entirely legitimate today.
What compelled these actions? Why was the rupee under such pressure? What economic conditions led to this situation after more than a decade of promises about a stronger economy and a stronger currency?
The country deserves answers.
Because in the end, the real story is not about gold.
It is about credibility.
A government that spent years warning Indians that someone else would take away their wealth now faces questions about decisions taken under its own watch. The politics of fear has a habit of colliding with reality.
And reality always leaves a paper trail.
‘Kalaignar’ M. Karunanidhi spent his life fighting for the dignity of the Tamil people, for social justice, and for the rights of the marginalised.
Not just a Chief Minister - he was a writer, a poet, a thinker. He believed in a Constitution that treats every Indian as equal.
My humble tributes on his birth anniversary.

Warm wishes to the people of Telangana on Formation Day.
A land of courage, innovation, and progress, Telangana continues to inspire.
May the state continue to prosper and create opportunities for all.
Politics gives us many opportunities to judge leaders by their speeches. The real test, however, is how they behave when the cameras are off.
That is why Captain Amarinder Singh’s recent remarks about @RahulGandhi are worth reflecting upon.
The two had a well-documented political fallout. They disagreed, parted ways, and found themselves on opposite sides of the political divide. Yet Amarinder Singh revealed that Rahul Gandhi never stopped wishing him on his birthday. When tragedy struck his family and his cousin passed away, Rahul Gandhi personally reached out to offer condolences.
There was no election to be won, no headline to be gained, no political advantage to be secured. Just a simple act of humanity.
In today’s political climate, where opponents are often portrayed as enemies and public discourse is increasingly toxic, such gestures matter. They remind us that politics should never erase basic human values.
This is not an isolated trait. Throughout his public life, Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly shown an instinct to connect with people beyond political calculations. Whether it was sitting with grieving families after tragedies, spending time with workers, farmers and students during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, or engaging with people whose voices are rarely heard, he has consistently demonstrated that empathy is not merely a political slogan but a personal habit.
Many leaders command authority. Some inspire loyalty. Very few retain compassion after enduring years of personal attacks, relentless criticism and political setbacks.
What distinguishes a person is not how they treat their supporters when everyone is applauding. It is how they treat critics, former colleagues and political opponents when there is nothing to gain.
Captain Amarinder Singh’s words reveal something important: despite disagreements, despite distance, despite politics, Rahul Gandhi never forgot the relationship.
That quality has deep roots in the Congress, the belief that political competition should never come at the cost of personal decency.
In the end, elections are won and lost. Governments come and go. Positions change hands.
What remains is character.
And character is revealed in the moments when nobody is keeping score.
Digital scan copy: ₹100/विषय
Re-totalling: ₹100/paper
Re-evaluation: ₹25/
A revealing chat with my fellow “anti-national Soros agents.”
Vedant and his friends are brilliant, brave young Indians who asked CBSE and the Modi government simple questions - but got insults instead of answers.
They deserve a bright and secure future. We will make sure they get it.
NEET। CBSE। SSC।
