The best way to have a long teaching career is to make peace as soon as you can with the fact that you’ll never get everything done and some things will just get left.

My favorite quotes from this week include “can we have another problem?” and “let me think about it!” Today I finally remembered to document some of the awesomeness. To say I’m proud of these kiddos would be an understatement.
I tried thin slicing from building thinking classrooms for the first time this week and it was amazing. I took no pictures because I was so in awe with the work students were doing.
It was truly magical to see students build on prior knowledge of fraction operations and extend their thinking to new scenarios. The perseverance and engagement was unlike any other structure I’ve used.
Virginia Tech has an ELITE women’s basketball team that is getting BETTER game by game. I love the support they receive don’t get me wrong, but I want more. There shouldn’t be an empty seat in Cassell Coliseum. These ladies DESERVE IT. They do it on both ends!

Beyond proud of my double block Algebra 2 IB Apps students who productively struggled through unfamiliar factoring jigsaw problems, then shared what they learned with their classmates. They inspire me with their collaboration, critical thinking, and risk taking🥹 @AnnandaleAtoms
