My mum passed away and some of her siblings are currently fighting & cussing me and my sisters out because we apparently buried her before members of our village royal family which is her actual family btw came to see her and pay their respects.

Now we’re being told that because we “went against instructions” and buried her quickly, they’re no longer obligated to “bury her properly” in the way she was meant to be buried as a princess.

And what’s funny is… not a single one of us has asked them for support in the first place or even had any intentions to. Like you’re actually being informed about the burial ceremony dates out of courtesy, not because you cared the most.

They had years to visit, love, honour and spend time with her while she was alive. Now, all of a sudden, seeing her after death has become the first priority.
Meanwhile I’m her daughter and I didn’t even get to see her either.

I had to send a voice note telling everyone to better pipe tf down and never bring that ridiculous nonsense again because I will not be tolerating it.

They don’t know that I’m actively looking for an excuse to be rude and angry… if everyone knows what is good for them , they’ll lay low right now..

@TunjiDisu1 reason for this directive and not use it as an opportunity to frustrate and try to extort law abiding citizens. Registered dealers who pay Taxes & fees annually and also employers of labour shouldn’t be the target. I believe it’s for security reasons and not revenue generation.

Faiza (not real name) was 2 years older than my daughter who was 5 when her grandma started working for me.

I needed someone to help with the baby when my mum left after 3weeks that I gave birth to my last baby during COVID. A friend recommended her.

She used to come with Faiza because there was no one to leave her with. According to her (her son in-law), Faiza's father gave her the girl after she lost her last child.

The girl became very close to my daughter during this time as there was no school and they had just each other to play with.

Just before we moved last year I asked her grandma about her and she said she is back in the village in Katsina, she would soon be married.

Apparently, they went for Sallah 2 years ago and her Father's friend saw her, developed interest in her and the father gave his consent.

I almost went mad with rage, the granny said " Toh, ya sa n yi?" ( What will I do?) He is her father and he can do as he pleases with her, it's her mother that is my own daughter.

2 days before I finally moved, the mother ran to tell me that Faiza is back!!! She went to threaten the prospective ango that she will kill him and run away if he marries her.

The man called off the wedding, her father disowned her that school and city has corrupted her, her mother looked for money and sent her back to her grandma.

Now, she is back to school. Her granny now sells Akara and pap close to the junction.

She might have ended like this girl if she didn't save herself from her own father and his friend. People who should be at the forefront of protecting her.

When some of us are livid about the atrocities of these men, they think we are concurring stories to farm.
