@golfboy52@DLocke09 You don't base picks on who wants to be here. You base them off who the best player is. AJ said he wants to be here and he could have still skipped town with his second contract.
@weddlesbeard@wolverinedevot1 But that doesn’t fit the narrative Michigan fans want to push!! 🤣 People pretending Whitt has some control over Eric is laughable.
@iiTzz_Tyrell Remember when everyone talked about how Ohio St was playing their "backup" WR's. Yea, those back-ups were Smith-Njigba and Harrison Jr. They swapped older pros for younger pros! We were one healthy DB away from winning that game.
@RileyJensen Agreed. At the end of the day, the only way to thrive as a country is to thrive as families and communities. You have to break it down to the smallest component. Focus on the things you can control and the end result will be a better country.
@Devil_Coug@Joshua_Newman Do you think Ryan Smith is worried about ticket sales vs winning a championship? Why would we give up assets when we can get essentially the same player at #2? Assuming a player wants to stay in a market is never a good idea.
@Joshua_Newman But he played for BYU! How could they not do this?! Remember when BYU fans were mad the Jazz didn’t draft Jimmer? AJ is incredible but no one would be suggesting this if he played for Duke!
@NuggetsWrldddd@ClubAntiquity@esidery No dog in the fight but did this guy really just say “an injured nuggets team” as if Minnesota wasn’t missing Divincenzo and Edwards?! 😂
SPRING BALL RECAP - BINGHAM
I first want to thank coach Josh Johnson for trusting me to help their players get seen and allowing me to come by for practice. I have a ton of respect for the coaches in our communities that maximize opportunities for their players.
HERE IS WHAT I SAW:
Bingham has a very good coaching staff, arguably one of the best I’ve seen. Former high level players at every position group including Ute/ NFL standout Star Lotulelei, who currently runs the DL. When you have a staff this knowledgeable, every part of practice is geared toward next level productivity. I thought the organization and tempo of practice was great, everyone was operating with intent.
Bingham has some legitimate talent on their roster, it would not surprise me to see them be a competitive team in their region this season. They also do a good job of maximizing the potential of the players regardless of the situation. I enjoyed my time over there, it was great to meet the coaches and catch up with the top players. This could be a group that surprises people.
WHO STOOD OUT?
Unfortunately a few guys were banged up who will make an impact, including 2028 TE Charlie Olsen. I’ll be getting eyes on those who were absent at a later date.
Monson Tukuafu, LB - 2027
@MonsonTukuafu
Monson really impressed me during the session. I was already high on him as a prospect because of his talent/ measurable numbers, I was familiar with his abilities, and I had seen him play in a live game. What I hadn’t seen was how hard he practiced. Every rep, every sprint was all-go, and I respect that a ton. When your teams best player leads with that type of effort, it sets the tone for the entire team. This is one of, if not the best 2027 LB prospect in the state.
Tusi Tuikolovatu, RB - 2027
@tusituikolovatu
Tusi was fantastic for this team a season ago. He is electric with the ball in his hands and provides a home run threat in the run or pass game. He, like Monson, worked extremely hard at practice. It was 100% on every rep, every sprint. I think Tusi is under the radar, but will be one of the best players in 6A if he has the season he’s capable of. There are not a lot of players with his versatility, quickness and speed. He is an every down player whose impact will determine games for this team.
Jayden Cumbee, DB - 2028
@JaydenKCumbee
Jayden showed flashes of why he’s a top prospect in the 2028 class. He was a bit hampered by what appeared to be hamstring tightness, but still showcased promising ability in the secondary. I liked his discipline and physicality, and he plays with an edge that I like to see at corner. I look forward to seeing him at 100% next time I come through.
A strength for this team will be the front, where they have several guys with college potential. Elias Fineaganofo (OL, 2027) and Jaylee Thompson (EDGE, 2027) stood out in that group. Bingham also had multiple QB’s who took quality reps which is a welcome site given the struggles they had with depth at that position last year. I do anticipate an overall improvement from the team and look forward to watching how they do. I appreciate the time fellas!
@801shark@BinghamMinersFB@Charlie_Olson4
@Coach_Matthews_ My favorite is that we have coaches asking parents of current players to approach kids and their parents so the coach doesn’t get in trouble. Do people really think a parent of an existing player just decided to ask another kid to switch schools on their own volition?!
Well, maybe this will slow down the craziness of all the kids repeating 8th grade to get a leg up in high school since their college eligibility clock would start in high school when they turn 19.
NEWS: NCAA President Charlie Baker told ESPN today that he’s “pretty optimistic” that the new aged-based eligibility proposal will happen. The DI Board of Directors met today and will recommend to not implement this rule retroactively for graduates/exhausted eligibility. “If you’ve used up your eligibility, you’ve used it up,” Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion.
