Great kickoff to @NewEnglandHIMSS Spring Conference with @TheChartisGroup
Only 13% of hospital or health systems feel they are ahead of the curve when it comes to Digital Health. Thankful to be a part of the AMAZING Digital Health team at @BostonChildrens
Finally made it and settled into #HIMSS22
Great first session around what we have accomplished so quickly with telehealth and what's next. We need to stop being "HIPAA-condriacs". Quote by Dr. Shawn Griffin from URAC and now take the tools we have to IMPROVE ACCESS TO CARE π
#CHC20 "Take ownership of your narrative and use it as a teaching moment." Wise words from Robin Roberts. We need to take control of the difficult situations and use them as valuable teachable moments β€οΈ
Not conference related but while reading through my Twitter feed noticed something popup about OpenNotes and our @BostonChildrens portal shows visit notes and this article, also reminder to read, tracks how open notes and patient safety go hand in hand

It is the vendors responsibility to help provide time saving and efficient EHRs for clinicians to lessen the documentation burden. There is a government effort to help with this:

A reminder for myself to read this article. #SINI2019

UMC El Paso has a medical legal partner that rounds with the providers that help with any legal situations at home and other SDOH. Having someone from Legal is a great idea to really help tackle the things clinicians can't while clinicians focus on patient care #SINI2019
Second presentation today that mentions being Highly Reliable. Proud to be a part of @BostonChildrens and a part of the initial High Reliabilty training team a few years ago #SINI2019
Shifting to the Quadruple Aim really requires clinicians to take care of themselves. In everything we do, we must first take care of ourselves before taking care of others. With all my past travels, I think of the oxygen mask, put it on yourself before helping others. #SINI2019
When it comes to documentation burden, there is a lot of focus on what is documented but what about trying to consume and make sense of the document itself? You have to also consider finding the document and the critical pieces needed for care. #SINI2019
Are the less experienced nurses looking for the validation of the EHR to provide alerts for them when it is not? When knowing something is wrong but not being stopped by the EHR and committing a med error anyways, is the young nurse to blame or the EHR? π€ #SINI2019
Interesting discussion where other institutions find both their less experienced nurses along with experienced nurses both being dissatisfied with using the EHR. Does not seem like EHR vendor matters but interesting food for thought. #SINI2019
Physician burnout has been a big topic in healthcare recently but what about nursing burnout? Interesting to see a survey tool used for physicians modified for nursing to really measure level of burnout for nursing, who are in the EHR the most #SINI2019
