@JakeWilkns I wouldn’t predict though the conservatives would be cheering for NY though because they are making up scandals about Wemby and the national anthem lol
If you want to have a good time in life, I think you should believe in some conspiracy theories. They're fun. Life is about having fun.
But if you want to be right, you should probably have a reflexive aversion to every conspiracy theory you hear. It's not that they're all wrong. It's more that the vast vast vast majority of them are incredibly stupid and don't really survive three seconds' thought (see post below for why it makes no sense for Karen Bass to rig an election to help a stronger candidate against her). More broadly, conspiracy theories almost always assume the extraordinary competency of a shadowy group of elites who are very good at keeping a secret. Haven't the last few decades proved that elites aren't that competent? Everybody accusing Karen Bass of expertly rigging the LA election on Twitter right now also thinks she sucks as mayor. What are the odds that the politician you hate, who you think sucks at everything, is exclusively good at rigging electoral outcomes to make you personally upset?
There's more to life than being right, so feel free to ignore the second paragraph. But people interested in being right should be much more reflexively judgmental of conspiracy theories.
Great explanation by @ForecasterEnten of why the claim that Karen Bass rigged the election to hurt Spencer Pratt is "the dumbest conspiracy theory [Harry has] ever heard"
Ken Paxton’s impeachment lawyer calling Paxton a scumbag and endorsing James Talarico is the equivalent of Todd Blanche calling Trump a scumbag and endorsing Kamala Harris in the middle of the 2024 election. Absolutely wild.
The LA mayor stuff is the dumbest conspiracy theory I've ever heard & makes no sense. Dem establishment/Bass wanted Pratt, not Raman, to advance.
Bass crushes Pratt in a 1-on-1 by 18 pt, while Raman beat Bass by 4.
Pratt's the rarity in LA less popular than the unpopular Bass!
Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced a free Knicks watch party at Bryant Park.
This comes after watch parties outside of Madison Square Garden were canceled due to Trump's attendance.
Dear Ted,
I’m a Republican.
Los Angeles is roughly 50% Democratic and about 10% Republican. Any candidate who wants to lead this city must win support well beyond the Republican base.
Spencer Pratt didn’t lose because voters didn’t understand he was independent. He lost because he failed to persuade enough voters that he should be mayor.
Calling every election result you dislike “corruption” doesn’t make it so.
Sometimes the simpler explanation is the correct one: the candidate you supported wasn’t able to build a majority coalition in Los Angeles.
NEWS — Ken Paxton’s impeachment defense lawyer is endorsing Democrats James Talarico for Senate, @NOTUSreports scoops
Dan Cogdell, who represented Paxton in his 2023 impeachment trial and several personal cases, told NOTUS in a statement that Paxton “has lost sight of his core mission”
Cogdell is well-connected in Texas GOP politics, and has represented top state party officials. He donated $6,500 to Paxton’s campaign, contributing as recently as last year
But he’s been critical of Trump. A clip of him calling Trump the “greatest threat” to democracy was even turned into an NRSC attack ad last year. It’s been scrubbed from the web.
Talarico said in statement “if you voted for John Cornyn, you have a place in this campaign.”

Shocked that a Trump endorsed dude who loves crystals and Alex Jones and has a closing message of we should jail Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom didn’t resonate with LA liberals
Spencer Pratt finishing with a lower % of the vote than Trump got in 2024 is a very good reminder of the echo chamber that Twitter has created around this election
In fairness, Pratt did spend the final weekend in NYC for a Fox and Friends hit where he called for his opponents to be jailed and accused homeless people of raping dogs.
Brilliant closing strategy.
