A little love story - Edward James, patron of the surrealists, was so besotted with his wife, the dancer Tilly Losch, that when he saw the trail of wet footprints she left up the stairs after her bath at Monkton House, he had them woven into the carpet.
In my nearly 4 years as an MP, I've been contacted by more constituents about Gaza and the call for a ceasefire than any other policy issue.
I am sure the same is true for other MPs.
We should listen to our constituents – and 76% of the public – and back an immediate ceasefire.
We are also shocked by reports of heavy gunfire in the vicinity of al-Quds hospital, and the ongoing targeting of hospitals throughout Gaza.
In total, 20 out of Gaza's 36 hospitals are no longer functioning.
Israel's bombardment of Gaza has killed 3,400+ children in just 3 weeks.
A "humanitarian pause" might allow aid in, but what happens after that? The bombs start again and more Palestinians are slaughtered?
We need a ceasefire, not a license for more bombing.
The number of children reported killed in just three weeks in Gaza is more than the number killed in armed conflict globally—across more than 20 countries—over the course of a whole year, for the last three years.

@RoyalMailHelp I need to organise a re-direct as I'm moving house next week, but I have to register in order to do this. However, there's a bug with the ability to register – it just sends you straight to this page. Can you help me please?
We may be witnessing the total obliteration of Gaza.
Political leaders refusing to speak out should feel eternal shame over the horror they are allowing to unfold.
Those of us who believe in peace cannot stay silent. We must say to the Palestinian people: you are not alone.
The main difference between conservative & progressive political strategy is that one feeds on fear while the other (as @yanisvaroufakis puts it) "refuses to pander to anxieties", assuming that people are basically good. Both of our major parties are pursuing the former strategy.
There’s really only ever been one “trans debate” I’ve thought was worth having.
And it’s been done, here on French TV.
So we can all move on with our lives now please, and leave trans folks in peace.
this country is falling apart at the seams - train strikes weekly, nhs on its knees and cost of living is up by 200% etc and yet this is how the government makes its decisions
🧵Here's a thought: what if people - even women-people, even left-wing people - could access the U.K. airwaves without being smeared, hazed or constantly interrupted?
I didn't mind my BBC run-in, but consider that it happened on the SAME DAY as the 3 incidents below...

“The climate crisis is too expensive to deal with”
“The NHS crisis is too expensive to deal with”
“The overflowing sewage systems…too expensive”
“The crumbling schools…too expensive”
When Sunak and his Ministers say “too expensive” they mean “not personally profitable”
