Visited the nearby park to collect soil samples and begin our unit “Soils in the Environment”. We found a worm and realized that living organisms are part of soil 🐛🪱
Not going to lie, data is one of my favourite math units to teach 📊 Today students made identity cards and then we used those cards to sort according to 2 or 3 attributes (learning goal pictured).

Kicking off Black History Month in the library with @msjakobschuk and a presentation on the steel pan from Pan Man Pat. We learned about the history of the instrument and listened to him play.
Working on a library makeover, including weeding out old & non-culturally responsive texts from non-fiction section. Then, working on organizing in a more visually appealing & accessible way to increase circulation. A little piece of the before… @PDSB_Libraries
