Floyd was given the poop end of the stick all the time. I hate the storyline they gave him with the polyamory. Him letting his child go doesn’t seem like what his character would do based on how he was written in the first 2 seasons #NewAmsterdam

@therealvloc Then boom she’d be unhappy again and he’d give another speech convincing her to stay. She was given the right ending because it allowed the actress to leave and come back at any time in the series. She could have come back and continued the growth of Helen

@therealvloc The fans are making Helen the villain. The writers gave her the ending that wasn’t an ending. She chose herself over everything else finally. She told Max she wasn’t happy from the beginning. He would romanticize everything and she would change her mind.

They could have killed her off which would have been typical. They could have forced her to marry Max when she didn’t want to. They gave her control. She chose herself.

I keep reading that people hated how writes treated Helen (Freema). I think the way they wrote her story left her in charge of her happiness. She was constantly expressing her unhappiness with her life and Max. Max would change her mind with his romantic ideals. #NewAmsterdam

She chose herself in the end and was left with the opportunity to come back and reprise the role at any time. The show just ended before the story could have been finished for Helen.
