Way larger class sizes, way more high needs students, etc. volunteering to do things outside your paid job when you can is one thing and I agree most do. Being forced to for free is completely different.

Trying to keep up with the 90 students I teach during the day is, plus my other responsibilities such as running my department, hall duties, and covering other classes. Unless you live it, it might be hard to understand how demanding it all is.

Last week alone I worked 10 extra hours coaching afterschool, getting home a minimum of 2 hours after the end of my workday. This is unpaid time away from my own family done completely voluntarily.

An update for HWDSB Athletics - ALL sport is paused Jan 1-9, 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 health concern. HWDSB is committed to providing a safe environment for all athletes, and will follow all Public Health Guidelines when planning return to sports.

Shout out to our Saint’s Cross Country Team for their fabulous performance at the HWIAC meet yesterday. Highlights include: Erika G 1st place; Darius D 4th place; Preston C 4th place. They along with Ryann S and Fisher S will be moving on to SOSSA!
