@platitudist @iAnonymous3000 I guess a camera in your bathroom or some unknown group of people had full access to all your private messages and web activity wouldn't pose a "material" problem. It would still pose a huge problem for most of us.

Does it make a difference whether China, Meta or the US has free access to enormous amounts of personal data from billions of people ? Yes. If it didn't, they wouldn't collect it.

Nope, it was never meant to solve this problem, rather it's the EU's way of making people conclude that the only real solution is to use digital ID for everything.

@AlexAndBooks_ Paywalled, so I don't get to read the whole article. But I live in Norway. School starts at age six, and I've never heard of a single 5 year old (or 6 for that matter) being given an unsupervised iPad by *anyone*.
