FEDUSA’S 8TH NATIONAL CONGRESS

The Federation of Unions of South Africa (FEDUSA) convened its 8th National Congress at the Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre, O.R. Tambo Airport, bringing together trade union leaders and delegates to deliberate on the future of organised labour and the advancement of workers’ interests.

The Congress marks a significant moment in the Federation’s journey, including the election of new leadership to steer FEDUSA over the next five years and strengthen its commitment to protecting workers’ rights, advancing dignity, promoting decent work and championing social justice.

Guided by the theme, “Reclaiming and Organising the Future: Workers’ Dignity, Power, and Justice through Conscious Unionism in an Age of Crisis,” the Congress reaffirmed the importance of unity, collective action and a strong, representative labour movement.

Together, we continue to organise, advocate and advance the interests of workers across South Africa.

I had the privilege to be in a team led by her in 2021 when an announcement was made by President Cyril Ramaphosa to bring greater transparency to the Chief Justice selection process

President appointed Judge Pillay as our Chair of the panel. What a privilege to have been led by her.Navi Pillay is a RSA jurist,former U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights,& winner of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize,who has served on major international judicial bodies & panels

The hummingbird gala dinner last night in Cape Town was spectacular, the company, the music and intention of the gala dinner was fundraising for youth education pathway. Thanks to the Kay Mason Foundation for this stellar job.

I join the Wits University this morning at the Disability Indaba under the theme “Beyond qualifications: unlocking potential & advancing inclusion” in which I regard as a critical shift in how we approach employment,education, and social integration for people with disabilities.
