@heymrsbond Hey @POTUS what could be done at the federal level to establish a “right to read” in every school? Can we get some federal funding tied to libraries and librarians in every school?
@FIRSTweets How about a whole @DisneyPlus series about FRC? More Than Robots was a great start… I’d love to see Disney keep it going. So many great stories to tell.
@mckeg_r@Buckeyes23701@rachel4arkansas Again, the discussion is not about parents, it’s about children. When they arrive at school without food, regardless of the reason, feeding them (without hesitation or shaming) is the only correct answer.
@ClawDocter@Buckeyes23701@rachel4arkansas Not sure what DSS stands for in your state, I think you’re referring to what CA calls child protective services. Yes, if children are coming to school hungry that is a sign that a family is in crisis and needs support, not punishment or shaming. Again none of that helps children.
@SDstemecosystem I worked at one of the most struggling schools in SD and my boss supported our prioritizing of 4 hours of science a week. Student outcomes improved across all curricular areas. The biggest problem I see right now is a lack of solid NGSS curriculum for every grade level.
@jimmyfallon My teacher friends and I often scour office supply and discount store adds for hours and make multiple trips to stores that have limits on items on our free time to buy things for our classrooms, #MyTeacherIsFunny
4th graders from Jerabeck Elementary honored the healthcare heroes @radychildrens with a board covered in notes of thanks and inspiration for their amazing efforts during the last year #NationalSuperheroDay#BetterSD
Congratulations to @sdschools@SanDiegoSCPA alum Andra Day on her Golden Globe win best performance by an actress in a motion picture, drama! #GoldenGlobes
@Kevin_Faulconer If you cared about the kids in San Diego and the rest of CA you would be pushing the Federal Government to fund the needed PPE &additional teachers needed to open schools safely. Stop using our kids and teachers as a tool in your campaign! #OpenSchoolsSafely

We must change the language around reopening schools. “We must fully fund reopening schools safely “ needs to be the phrase used every time this is discussed. #openschools#COVID19#lovettorleaveit#SafeSchools
