We are LOVING @ArgumentDriven in 4th grade! Students are collecting data using charts, photos with labels, and even creating Google slides to stay organized! I love the flexibility and student ownership throughout investigations. @EllistarTara@PangbornES
I have not explicitly taught nonrenewable energy sources as students go through this “mining for marshmallows” simulation ⛏️. But their conclusions to what is happening will lead us to the definition 😊 #inquiry@EllistarTara@Brandeli1974@PangbornES
This week call / text ur most challenging kid (& parent). Say, “I hope you’re having a great holiday & look forward to seeing u when school starts.” Literally takes 2 min. Reaching kids no one else reaches = doing things others won’t do. Relationships 1st.

Grade 4 wrapped up our 1st CKLA unit by sharing our personal narratives! Each class nominated one student to share in front of their peers! We laughed and we cried 💕Our teacher hearts are full and proud 🎉 @CourtneyLeard@PangbornES
@PangbornES Gr 4 is buzzing with excitement over their first inquiry science lesson of the year!! Gr4 Tch are kicking off #sciencenotebooks and #ADI today is a bubble gum investigation on their short day of school!! @EllistarTara@RaegonClutz
Exciting to see Ss making connections between reading and math. @MissMarceron Ss made the connection that the word PRIME has 1 syllable & in math prime means a # has 1 factor pair & COMPOSITE has more than 1 syllable and more than 1 factor pair in math. I❤️it!! @CourtneyLeard
The most effective consequences for the toughest kids involve them helping someone or something else. Teach them: the more you give the more you get. In every aspect of life. This puts out of control kids back in control. #edchat#kidsdeserveit#tryit
