The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises signed a MoU with Meesho Pvt Ltd., an e-commerce platform, today at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.

The MoU aims to provide marketing linkages by onboarding traditional artisans and craftspeople under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme onto the e-commerce platform. It also seeks to enhance their market access and build capacities through support in cataloguing, product listing, and account management of high-quality traditional products.

While chairing the Technical Training Session on the PM Vishwakarma Portal, Dr. Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME, delivered the keynote address, where he emphasized the objectives of the PM Vishwakarma scheme and how it is empowering rural entrepreneurs to establish their own enterprises.

Dr. Rajneesh elaborated on the scheme’s design, that it is specifically structured to ensure that Vishwakarmas do not have to visit government offices or be physically present for availing benefits. AS & DC highlighted that the PM Vishwakarma scheme is entirely paperless and enables end-to-end e-transactions.

"PM Vishwakarma portal has been developed with a 'Vishwakarma-first' approach, addressing their day-to-day challenges and core needs," AS & DC said.

Dr. Rajneesh further congratulated the entire PM Vishwakarma team for the successful implementation of the scheme.
