Schools need to do a much better job exposing/explaining college options/realities to first gen students.
I told my students today that they can be successful and happy no matter what college they go to. They get so caught up thinking only the “best” colleges are what matters.
@bogner_lexi@doctor2pi@Tech_Buddha I remember learning about certain battles in the Civil War and being like, "I have no idea where that is..." Now I can show students exactly where something took place!
A4) We can use technology such as google maps to keep students in a world history class engaged! I find this particular use of technology to be beneficial because then students may discuss their favorite part of that activity as well. #csubedte4200#csubted@doctor2pi
Hi Jasmine... you look familiar! Lol. But yessss, I love Kahoot! How fun was it to have our classmates play a game and see them get competitive over it in class. So fun! See you in class!! #csubedte4200#csubted@doctor2pi
@BarnellNicole@csubted I actually LOVED this. I love seeing how different sections answered questions and how they would approach education by using tech. Good job everyone!
Maria, I totally agree. I loved using Flipgrid in my 4200 and 3000 class because I got to see the many ways that people interpreted questions/readings. I love seeing others' insights! #csubedt4200#csubted@doctor2pi
A3: There are already so many programs that were built for the sole purpose of supplementing education. Things like Flipgrid or even Quizlet are such a great way of providing additional information while also supplementing the education. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@Duncannedd
Hi Karley. I agree! Today during my observation the instructor used Kahoot! to ease into the review lesson for an exam students had tomorrow. It put them in a positive mindset and they were able to see what they needed to improve on. #csubedte4200#csubted@doctor2pi
A3) Applications such as Padlet can allow you to provide additional resources and collaborate. Aside from instruction, videos and/or graphics can deepen a students' understanding. Acknowledging the various types of learners is very beneficial! #csubedte4200#csubted@doctor2pi
A2) I think using videos for students are great to incorporate when we think of visual and auditory learners. This could potentially benefit all the students in the classroom. For English learners, google translate could be a good tool. #csubted#csubedte4200@doctor2pi

Hi Elizabeth, I love Kahoot! I also love Blooket, I think the games on there are more competitive and let the students have more fun. #csubedte4200#csubted@doctor2pi
@jenn_fain@Duncannedd@csubted@CSUBakersfield Hello Jenn, nice to meet you. Have you always wanted t teach High School English? I always had a lot of fun in my senior year AP English literature class, it was hard but I learned a lot!

Gladys! I completely agree. When I explored ClassDojo I loved the way you can encourage good behavior and post resources for students. It is such a cool website! #csubedte4200#csubted@doctor2pi
A1) Technology can be used to engage students with learning content through the use of applications such as ClassDojo. ClassDojo can help encourage the good behavior of students with their rewarding point system and communicating is facilitated. @doctor2pi#csubted#csubedte4200
