Pope St. Pius X: "Do not let yourselves be deceived by the subtle declarations of others who do not cease to pretend that they wish to be with the Church, to love the Church, to fight for her so that she will not lose the masses, to work for the Church so that she will come to understand the times and so to win back the people and attach them to herself. Judge these men according to their works. If they maltreat and despise the ministers of the Church and even the Pope; if they try by every means to minimize their authority, to evade their direction, and to disregard their counsels; if they do not fear to raise the standard of rebellion, what Church are these men speaking about?" Pope Pius IX against the so-called 'Old Catholics' in Switzerland: "They repeatedly state openly that they do not in the least reject the Catholic Church and its visible head but rather that they are zealous for the purity of Catholic doctrine declaring that they are the heirs of the ancient faith and the only true Catholics. But in fact they refuse to acknowledge all the divine prerogatives of the vicar of Christ on earth and do not submit to His supreme magisterium" (Encyclical Graves Ac Diuturnae, n. 2) - Sounds a lot like the Lefebvrists, doesn't it? https://t.co/dW50P1TH36
While many people who are pious and good-willed support the SSPX because they believe them to be authentically Catholic, the cold reality is that if Leo XIV is Pope, then these four men who are about to become bishops against the prohibition of the 'Pope' are not holy, do not (and will not) have a flock, and the people they minister to are not faithful. That is what Catholic principle requires us to conclude IF we recognize the Novus Ordo hierarchy as legitimate. Catholicism isn't Burger King, where you can have it 'your way'.
SSPX now vs. then. Fr. Pagliarani warns people not to rejoice in the impending excommunication, which he claims is unjust. Back in 1988, the Superior General and other SSPX prelates declared their joy at being excommunicated by a counterfeit church. https://t.co/Ps9CTbMsDF
You can't have it both ways, Fr. Pagliarani. You can't be faithful to the Church by grave disobedience to the Holy See on the grounds that it's not faithful to Christ and you instead are. The only entity guaranteed always to be faithful to Christ is the Holy See. Which is why we must conclude that the Novus Ordo popes are not valid occupants of the Holy See.
The SSPX is trying to have it both ways: On the one hand, Leo XIV is the “Most Holy Father” and “Your Holiness”, as Fr. Pagliarani addressed his declaration “filially and sincerely”; and it is consequently from him that they request the “papal mandate” for their scheduled episcopal consecrations. On the other hand, when this “Most Holy Father” does not do as they wish, they remember that he is really a nobody on account of his heresies and other scandals. https://t.co/6Q0tfFX1T5
SSPX promotes the error that the Pope is not the head of the Church: "The Bride [of Christ] remains holy through her Head, who is Christ—not his vicar—through the assistance of the Holy Spirit...." - https://t.co/b643EIPyDV Reality check from Pope Pius XII: "That Christ and His Vicar constitute one only Head is the solemn teaching of Our predecessor of immortal memory Boniface VIII in the Apostolic Letter Unam Sanctam; and his successors have never ceased to repeat the same" (Mystici Corporis, n. 40). https://t.co/HLWAh2G9Nl
Leo XIV tells heretico-schismatic patriarch Tawadros II that he wants to "achieve the visible unity of the Church" - https://t.co/KKklpuEaCg There he goes again, denying a Catholic dogma...
@jj_sterz You keep putting words in my mouth. It is a waste of time to communicate with you. I am Catholic, and your modern church of Vatican II is not. Will be blocking you, but I will pray for you.
@jj_sterz I admitted nothing of the kind. Just pointing out the Francis was HONORING the arch-heretic, thereby giving us another reason (among countless others) to show that he does not have the Catholic Faith. It is willful blindness to say that he does.
@jj_sterz absolutely false to say that SEDE orders are invalid. You need to study sacramental theology! Not even the Vatican II church makes this claim. Of course, it'll say the orders are illicit, but since the V-II 'popes' are not popes at all, the claim of illicitness is false, too
I abhor everything that was established after the Second Vatican Council. After Pius XII, the Church has been without a legitimate Pope — and so it remains. However, I do not like being called a sedevacantist, as the term sounds as if I take pride in this conviction, which in reality fills me with sorrow. The vacancy of the Apostolic See is not a banner to be carried with pride: it is a body in agony. For I know well — and only God knows in its fullness — the incalculable harm that so many souls have suffered, and are still suffering, and how many may have been eternally lost for lack of the voice of Peter resounding in the world.
@jj_sterz Don't forget - Bergoglio had a STATUE of Martin Luther in a place of honor in the Vatican during their 500-year anniversary CELEBRATION of Martin Luther's revolt from the Church in 1517. The Vatican also put Martin Luther on postage stamp that year. Who's being Protestant here?
Can Catholics resist the Pope because St. Paul resisted St. Peter? Dynamite lecture! https://t.co/YY3kaRpAuR In this talk, Fr. Gabriel Lavery demolishes R&R 'cut-and-paste theology'. #catholic#CatholicTwitter#popefrancis#fsspx#sspx#fatima#fssp
As soon as you hear a member of the clergy refer to the proposed imperfect general council as a "conclave," you know that he is trying to keep the truth from you.
It is a clear indication that such clergy member does not wish to have an honest discussion.
