Apple investigation fun in grade one! 🍎 🍏 We applied our science and math skills to measure length, count the amount of seeds, explore buoyancy and research about different varieties of apples! @RSP_HDSB

Dot Day fun in Grade 1! 🎨 Students were inspired by the book, The Dot, and applied their own creativity to make their mark in the world 🌍 @RSP_HDSB #InternationalDotDay

Teddy Bear Picnic fun in Grade 1! 🧸🧺 We had a blast listening to songs, playing games and enjoying some snacks with friends @RSP_HDSB

The rain didn’t stop us from celebrating Play Day with the Grade 1s! 🏓☀️🍡 We participated in some fun cooperative games and even squeezed in some time to enjoy freezies outside @RSP_HDSB

We’ve been having so much fun with our SK visits! Senior Kindergarten students @RSP_HDSB have been touring Grade 1 classrooms to give them a glimpse of next year ✏️🙌🏻

The grade one classes @RSP_HDSB explored the impacts of climate change and came together to develop solutions to save the polar bears 🐻‍❄️🌎 We used loose parts, inspired by @HDSB_TheShift, to represent our thinking 💭

Art room fun @RSP_HDSB 🎨 Grade 1s began the first part of their contrast projects today 👍🏻

We had so much fun learning about the history of cherry blossoms and creating them with tissue paper 🌸 Students loved applying their knowledge of different lines to create a beautiful vase @RSP_HDSB

Grade 1s learned about the impacts of pollution on our environment 🌍 We then stepped into action and worked together to clean up our school grounds ♻️ @RSP_HDSB

Grade 1s utilized our beautiful art room to begin their Eric Carle inspired texture projects 🎨 Students had a wonderful time exploring different texture tools 👍🏻 @RSP_HDSB

We have been loving “Partner Reading” in our grade one class. During this time, students practice their decoding and comprehension skills, listen attentively to a peer, help others sound out words, and contribute towards a positive classroom environment 👍🏻 📖 @RSP_HDSB

At Grade 1 Friendship Club, students brainstormed thoughtful messages and created a card for a kind friend in their life. So many caring pictures and words were shared 👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼💗 @RSP_HDSB

Field trip fun with the grade 1s! ❄️ 🚌 We had a wonderful time visiting Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area where students played cooperative games, went on a hike and created habitats for their “nature name” 🦉 @RSP_HDSB

Grade 1s @RSP_HDSB were excited to apply their knowledge of 3D shapes in a STEM based activity. 🧠 So wonderful to see them representing their learning in a hands-on way 👍🏻
