The grapheme o frequently spells /ǔ/ (short u) when it is followed by an m, n, th, or v.

💙Helpful to know when for we mispronounce a new word, & we need to try a different pronunciation to fit in that word.

Mud kitchens, magnetic tiles on portable for some vertical exploration. Number scavenger hunts, wand building, leaf pictures, ribbon tying, leaf mazes, drum fit, dress up and some quiet centres for students that needed some space.

Wind the chick up and read where it lands! Trying to meet the children where they are. Ss had the opportunity to read words, sentences or letter names and sounds. Which ever they chose, students enjoyed winding the chicks and watching them hop! #earlyliteracy
