As conversations in favor of a @UN intervention in Haiti develop w/Haitians excluded, what concrete steps have been taken to ensure protections to the Women, Children, and Men who were victims of sexual exploitation and abuse at the hands of UN personnel?https://t.co/civY5JzDSL
In court testimony, Peter Hatch, head of the intelligence unit at ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations, confirmed under oath that DHS leaders directed agents to mine websites run by shadowy pro-Israel groups, including Canary Mission and Betar, to build lists of pro-Palestinian student protesters to target for visa revocation and investigation. Hatch said more than 5,000 names were reviewed, with about 200 reports drafted on those flagged as possibly violating U.S. law. The Washington Post added that DHS diverted about 10 analysts from counterterrorism and cyber units to form a special “tiger team” dedicated to monitoring these students.

USAID "circumvented the democratic process, eroded sovereignty, undermined local businesses and government and served more as a benefit to U.S. special interest groups than to the local population." - @JakobJohnston https://t.co/a3KYLcRTXT
There's justified concern for human beings receiving the scraps at the bottom of the USAID scheme. But @USAID programs aren't designed 4their benefit. There's ample evidence that, by design programs do far more harm than they help. See what USAID's Frank M. Coffin has said.
Early in Obama's first term, the US announced a big reform program for USAID that would have broken up the big contracts that go only to the beltway bandits. Here's how the contractors responded, from AID STATE:
The earthquake in Haiti was 15 years ago.
The $10+ billion international response accelerated the outsourcing of the country. The state and the economy undermined, communities divided.
The violence of today is a direct result.
Not a failed state. An Aid State.
@JakobJohnston " 590 civilians unrelated to gangs were killed or injured in police ops " Is there a breakdown of numbers of deaths as opposed to injuries, and location of the operations that resulted in these @HaitiMSS human rights violations? And what reparations are available to survivors?
#HaitiNews | Deployment considered “sigh of relief” by some living under armed gangs for too long. Both members of Haiti’s government and thousands of residents reacted positively to the arrival of the first Kenyan police officers on Haitian soil.

@romainlecour@melindayiti@danicacoto At this point it is clear that the accountability strategy is to avoid having any accountability. 9 months after the UNSC vote, there is nothing serious about accountability. Nothing in the SOFA. No mechanisms even proposed. No public discussions.
Same open market for UNaccountability #UNSEA https://t.co/AztW2OLHqY "MSSM personnel are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of their participating state regarding any criminal offenses they commit in Haiti."
"Henry had gone to Kenya in February to speed up the process of the UN-backed 1,000-strong police mission"
-4 sentences later-
"Experts told PassBlue that the mission would need more than 5,000 trained personnel to combat the gangs"
Well, that isn't police force.
"Benin, a Francophone country, confirmed to the UN on Feb. 17 its willingness to send 1,500 “seasoned soldiers” from its defense and security forces to #haiti and will up the amount to 2,000 men within six months. "
#NYTimes gaslighting another foreign occupation in #Haiti . No mention that 7 member presidential council appointment is contingent on approving the Kenyan led MMSS. @FrancesRobles@Lattif do you think omission will pave the way for claims of "#Haitian consensus"?
@FrancesRobles@Lattif Are you able to relay the time frame between the versions? What's the difference between the 2 articles readership? Was the 1st version open and the 2nd behind a paywall for everyone? Can you identify how these omissions sway opinions towards support of the MMSS? @FrancesRobles
