It was a great day to welcome our correctional colleagues from the Norfolk VA Sheriff's Office. They toured and learned about the specialized units and programming we offer at the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction - including a stop at Project EARTH!
We had a great time at the 28th Annual Law Enforcement Stations Day! Our staff loved answering questions from curious students who hope to one day have a career in law enforcement.

This week we collaborated with our Shirley PD partners to talk scam awareness and prevention with local residents at the Shirley Senior Center. Thanks to Chief Santiago and the Council on Aging for facilitating a great event.
Last week Victim Services Coordinator Ashley Griffith was the guest speaker at a violence prevention month event hosted by Portal to Hope and the Everett Police Department. Ashley joined others at Everett City Hall to talk about her important work and MSO programs.
Today Deputy Matthew Doherty was presented with the Medal of Valor at the 29th Annual Excellence in Corrections Awards. Deputy Doherty was honored for his heroic actions in disregarding his own personal safety to rescue a man from a house fire while off-duty at home. #WeAreTheMSO
