I wonder how the women of color on her team feel or if they even care? I mean, that would have to be emotionally frustrating to be coached by someone who thinks that way. But that’s her true nature when angered she sees us as species and not humans? Being frustrated end in this?
Angel, I'm sorry. Last night, in the emotion of the moment after Nyara's injury, I used a phrase that I shouldn't have used, and I take full responsibility for that. My frustration was with the officiating, but my words unfairly put the focus on you.
President Trump and Congressional Republicans just shut down the government because they refused to stop your health care costs from rising.
Let me be clear: Republicans are in charge of the White House, House, and Senate. This is their shutdown.
Key Statistics:
As of 2023, 24% of white children and 64% of Black children live in single-parent households (Pew Research).
Hispanic single-parent households rose to 42%, and among Native Americans, it's around 53%.
The white single-mother birth rate rose from 5% in 1960 to 29% in 2019, showing that this is not a race-specific issue.
White families receive the most welfare benefits in the U.S. (approximately 40% of all welfare recipients are white).
Blaming welfare for family structure shifts ignores deeper economic, social, and policy failures that affect all communities.
Rather than attacking welfare, the focus should be on improving economic opportunities, education, and fair wages to support stable households across all racial and ethnic groups.
Through struggle and discipline, persistence and faith, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. helped move this country forward. As we honor his legacy today, let’s remember the lesson he taught us: that even in the face of impossible odds, people who love this country can help change it. In honor of #MLKDay, I hope you’ll do what you can in your community to create a better future for us all.
