Recently, students read the poem "Your Dream is" by
@jasonreynolds
. They then wrote their own version of the poem - either in the same style or just following the topic of dreams. I loved seeing them praise & analyze each other's poems, too!
HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY! A few last wonderful letters to share. The assignment: Write to someone you miss, want to thank, or who is in need. As often happens regardless of the letter topic, I received a lot of letters written to MOMS.
Students often enjoy writing letters, and this time of remote instruction has been no exception! Here are some exemplar letters. The assignment: Write to someone you miss, want to thank, or who is in need.
Students made life connections during our study of happiness & passions in our TED Talk writing unit! Thank you for sharing your pets, forts, baking, LEGOs, trampolines, etc. & all your growth while home. Here are just a FEW great examples. #timecapsule
If you’re looking for something hopeful to read while home, this one’s great. Author @MitchAlbom is writing his pandemic-inspired story and releasing his chapters for free as he goes, even offering up donations to his local Detroit. https://t.co/GgimjTfK9R
Hidden Talents by David Lubar - creative projects in the making! Students had a choice to create a visual for either character, plot, or setting. Loving what they are coming up with for these character cards / comic strips / maps of Edgeview School in the story 😊
Students crafted creative visuals and explained the dominant traits of their fiction writing main characters. They used STEAL methods of character to demonstrate different aspects of the character :)
