I want to share what I consider as an illustrative incident for today's Gen.

Last Friday when I was about to disembark from the flight in Chennai from Delhi a passenger from the other side of isle introduced himself as Dr Venkat Ramakrishnan and as a follower of my comments and writings.

When I asked about him he said he was a plastic surgeon in UK for 30 years and is back in Chennai to look after his nonagenarian parents. With that our conversation ended as we disembarked

But what he said -- he came back to look after his aged parents -- made me reach out to him. Yesterday I could trace him with the scrappy details I had got and spoke to him today. He practices as a plastic surgeon in Chennai and is a consultant in Apollo. His father Dr Venkatrasami was a famous plastic surgeon who established a surgery set up in Stanley Hospital in Chennai which is near industrial area where workers lose limbs in accidents calling for surgeries. A block in Stanley is named after Dr Venkatrasami.

Dr Venkat Ramakrishnan himself had a roaring pratice in UK. But the call of his duty to his aged parents made him give up that to come back to India two years back

I thought it is my duty as a journalist to inform the public about illustrative sons like him who value their moral relational obligations more than their personal career

It is those who like Dr Venkat Ramakrishnan sustain intergenerational dharmic responsibilities that keeps our relation based society functional. We are not and can never be a contract based society. According to SBI economic research 84% of parents live with their children in India. This culturally inherited social and emotional security is irreplaceable by state law or courts in our country.

I feel proud of sons like Dr Venkat Ramakrishnan who stand by the basic dharma of Matru Devo Bhava Pitru Devo Bhava
My salutes him and urge the young Indians to inbibe this irreplaceable cultural virtue exemplified by Dr Venkat Ramakrishnan

Today, the families of Delhi Police officers held a press conference.

They asked Rahul Gandhi: “The very Parliament where you sit was protected by our fathers, who were injured in the line of duty. How can you call those same police officers ‘goons’?”

But look at Rahul Gandhi’s arrogance.

When a reporter asked him about it, he immediately replied, “You are from the BJP.”

In civilized societies, serving in the armed forces is generally regarded as a matter of honor and pride. However, Pakistan's military has, lost its credibility and public respect due to massive scale of corruption, terrorism, mass killings, and economic misconduct. It is an international mercenary force that has evolved into a mafia-like institution.

The sixty million people of Balochistan have already declared their independence and announced their complete disassociation from Pakistan's military, the Frontier Corps (FC), the police, and other state institutions. The decline in confidence is no longer limited to Balochistan. People from Pakistan's other provinces are also increasingly viewing military enlistment as a source of humiliation rather than honor. As a result, Pakistan's military and state institutions are now compelled to stand on streets and public squares, using loudspeakers to recruit personnel in a manner resembling street vendors advertising their merchandise.

Pakistan has already collapsed from within and has become hollow at its core.

Since Professor V Kamakoti has been nominated in the committee to overhaul our education system, he is being mocked by opposition leaders for his beliefs.

Today, I sat to check his academic credentials . Alongside serving as the Director of IIT Madras, his academic and professional accomplishments include:

• 250+ Research Papers and Patents: He has published over 250 research papers in leading international journals and conferences and holds numerous national and international patents.

• Development of the SHAKTI Microprocessor: He led the design and development of SHAKTI, India’s first indigenous, open-source microprocessor.
Microprocessor Development Programme (MDP): He heads this flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), aimed at strengthening India’s semiconductor and chip-design ecosystem.

• Record Patent Filings – “One Patent a Day”: As Director of IIT Madras, he introduced the vision of “One Patent a Day.” Under his leadership, the institute filed a record 417 patents during 2024–25.

• Role in the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB): As an NSAB member, he provides strategic advice to the Government of India on cybersecurity, telecommunications security, and digital infrastructure.

• Leadership of the AI Task Force: He chaired the Artificial Intelligence Task Force constituted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, helping shape India’s AI policy framework.

• Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA): He oversees initiatives under the ISEA programme to build India’s cybersecurity workforce and promote public awareness of information security.

• Research in VLSI and Hardware Security: His primary academic contributions lie in VLSI design, algorithms, and strengthening cryptographic security at the silicon hardware level.

• Institutional Reforms at IIT Madras: Since assuming office as Director in 2022, he has helped IIT Madras retain its top position in the NIRF rankings while launching new online degree programmes and expanding the institute’s startup ecosystem.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to science and technology, he has been awarded the Padma Shri (2026), the DRDO Academic Excellence Award, and the IBM Faculty Award.

He is a very eminent academician... IITs have an experience of conducting an equally important exam, JEE, for several years, without any question mark.
