As the school year begins to wind down, I just want to say thank you to every teacher out there.
Thank you for the early mornings, the long days, the patience, the encouragement, and the thousands of small moments most people never see.
Thank you for believing in kids when they struggled.Thank you for showing up even on the hard days.Thank you for the difference you made in the lives of children this year.
What you do matters more than you know.
Now as the year comes to a close, take care of yourself too. Rest. Recharge. Breathe. Youβve earned it.
And if no one has told you lately,
Thank you for all you do.
The final bell rings.
The buses pull away.
The hallways go quiet.
And every educator feels it.
Because students do not just pass through our classrooms. They leave fingerprints on our hearts.
Long after the lessons, tests, and bulletin boards are gone, what remains are the human moments:
The hugs. The laughter. The breakthroughs. The handwritten notes. The students who changed us just as much as we changed them.
As a therapist and former school principal, I can tell you this is the part educators carry forever.
To every student:
You mattered more than you know.
To every educator packing up your classroom with tired eyes and a full heart:
Thank you for loving kids, believing in them, protecting them, and showing up for them day after day.
The final bell may end the school year, but your impact will last a lifetime.

Black joy is resistance. To exist, to thrive, to find joy in a world that tries to dim our light - that is revolutionary. Whether youβre pushing through adversity, standing in your truth, or reclaiming your space, know this: your joy, your love + your resilience are sacred β€οΈππ€
Various models for 4 day work/school weeks can and do work. The problem is that our social fosters a mindset that people only have value when theyβre at work/school.
