@MsShirley19@CottonwoodCISD Currently, I am learning about the power of non-verbals from #mathforELLs and my classes with @EwingLearning. What a wonderful use of non-verbals during wait-time. I hope to become more comfortable with and expand my use of non-verbals to help my students learn as you did!
@EwingLearning Wow. Thank you for providing me with this imagery. I am sure that would be frustrating and discouraging. For success to occur, access needs to be provided! I look forward to learning how to provide access in the next chapter of #mathforELLs
@Toppel_ELD @EwingLearning@bobsonwong@Larryferlazzo I just started reading #mathforELLs. The questions in this notebook really help expand my thinking and ask me to think about how I will apply the strategies I learned. What a wonderful tool for collaboration. I would love to use a tool like this for future book studies.
A7: If teachers communicate in the language and style of their students, they will form a better connection with their students, help them learn more, and possibly learn a better way to teach something. #rdg318watts
A6: e-readers are interactive because they speak to you and show you definitions. They are motivating and meaningful because they provide students with a new way to read, progress bars, and use of technology (that is efficient and a cool way to read) #rdg318watts
A5: It is very important for teachers to use technology. Although it might not be liked by teachers at first, technology is what students are used to. If using technology will help your students learn and connect, you should use it #teachingmeanslifelonglearning#rdg318watts
A4: If teachers do not model what e-readers can do, students will not use them as efficiently as possible, and they will not use the e-reader the way that is expected. If you do not show them how to use tools appropriately, they won’t use them/will misuse them. #rdg318watts
A3: How someone who grew up with zero technology vs someone who is used to technology thinks is different. One generation my love analog clocks, while the other doesn’t know how to use them at all. Digital literacy can be used to fill and heal what technology offers. #rdg318watts
Built in e-reader features such as the ability of the e-reader to say the words for you, enlarge the print, and define words, helps all readers, including ELLs and those with disabilities, read and comprehend what they are reading. #rdg318watts
A1: This data concludes that today’s students are a lot more technologically advanced than past students. However, technology is not always a good thing (students need to spend less time playing video games). We must help students use technology in an efficient way. #rdg318watts
