@TracyZager I used this article in my dissertation https://t.co/AWxwXPilGC it actually talks about how many associations don’t believe calculus should be taught in high school. Based on their interests, it sounds like stats is the way to go!! Good luck to them!!!
@desmosclassroom @Amplify Curious, if there is any data from this study broken down by specific other programs the control groups used? For example how does it compare to just regular IM, knowing it is somewhat based on IM initially.

Come work for me!!! We have a lot of great things planned for our MS Math Department!! Danbury Public Schools - Frontline Recruitment https://t.co/BZre2ac8El
@dhabecker However, if this was a first offense I would also absolutely have my child spend at least 20-30 minutes on this and that would likely be more than 4-5 problems complete. Then have a discussion with the teacher prior to the next assignment.
@dhabecker As a math teacher and parent, I also think this assignment is absurd, but I am positive I gave things like this in my early years of teaching. I would provide the teacher with some literature as to why this was inappropriate and an example of what appropriate looks like, (1/2)
@atomic_math Yes!! It was so wonderful hearing from you on the panel and getting to follow up in a breakout room! I took away a ton of great information and a renewed interest in pushing for MBG!!! Thank you!!!
Come work with me!!! Great school and great colleagues - teacher leaving for personal reasons.

Just wondering…Why are we so eager to combine grades in 6-8 so that some can be accelerated into Alg 1 in grade 8, when the duplicative Alg 2 and Pre-Calc can easily be merged to open the door to Calculus to anyone who wants it without the inequity of Middle School tracks? Hmmm.
