Fun with light for a short week! Chem Ss work to explain why fireworks explode in colors. To investigate, we analyzed light emitted when metals are lit on fire. Then, we donned diffraction glasses to split visible light into specific colors (last pic!). @RSDSciTechEd @RamseyHSNJ

Some Friday fun last week in AP Chemistry! We worked to figure out if our hydrogen peroxide had gone bad by titrating and turning the solution light pink. These students got such a light pink color, it’s barely visible! Great work! @RSDSciTechEd @RamseyHSNJ

A little snow can’t stop science investigation! Chem Ss analyzed how polarity affects dissolving. Polar food dye dissolves evenly in polar water. However, the dye cannot dissolve in nonpolar oil- why is why we see droplets at the bottom! @RSDSciTechEd @RamseyHSNJ
