As a celebration of completing ABC Bootcamp, our JES kindergarteners had Pirate Day on Friday! They went on a treasure hunt for letters & completed other pirate-themed activities to reinforce letter recognition & sounds.Their hard work has paid off with lots of learning & growth!

School Board offers @fssdDirofSchool a contract extension of two years. 🎉 Dr. Snowden thanked the Board and said that while he was prepared to retire, he still loves what he’s doing and wants to continue to lead an exceptional district faculty & staff for two more years.

Kindergarten lessons at @fssdjes have a distinctly Italian flavor this week. Students dressed up, donned chef’s hats, and made Italian specialties, such as “sound it out spaghetti.” They also used math skills for “tasty ticket totals.”
FSSD teachers are molto grande!

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... BLAST OFF! Kindergarten went to outer space for a week of learning! They learned about the moon and space travel, worked on making predictions and retelling stories! They also practiced making 8 & 9, patterns, and comparing numbers!

Children are amazing and resilient! I taught my last reading small groups of the year today! These kiddos came, ready to learn, every day. What a blessing to be able to continue our phonics and reading instruction for the last 6 weeks!
