In light of yesterday’s federal court ruling, it looks like we may have three special elections on our hands for the Mississippi House and Senate. SOSPAC is ready to roll!

With the news of Gulfport Mayor Billy Hewes’s (R) retirement, we thought we would revisit the vote tally there in the Governor’s race from 2023. In Gulfport, @BrandonPresley received 8,853 votes (56%) to Tate Reeves’s 6,966 (44%). #2025municipalelections

Here’s a trend we are going to fix. In the 2023 general election, 85% of all House and Senate races were uncontested. Up from 63% uncontested in 2011. It’s time that change.
