Leonie’s haemoglobin levels have now dramatically dropped and her blood is a light colour. She now needs another blood transfusion. When will this ever end for her!!! 💔😭 #TeamLeonie #FcukCP #FcukSepsis #FcukEColi

Leonie had her 3rd sepsis washout; this one took longer as 11 litres were used to cleanse her. They have closed the surgical wound again. You can't keep it open that long due to more infections! She has 3 drains attached to her now. 2 blood/flush drains and one infection drain. I dare not show too much graphic content as it might offend or upset some but it is the reality of what my daughter has had to endure so far.
We will now sit and wait for a few more weeks, taking bloods every day to check the white cell count and keeping antibiotics, pain relief, PN & fluids pumping through her body. If this doesn't work & Leonie’s body starts shutting down again, the next drastic step is opening Leonie up again then cleaning the spinal metalwork. We are all hopeful this will work. Brain scan on Friday.

It doesn’t get any easier Leonie going back into theatre. She is so drained; I didn’t get my hand held this time. The anaesthetic went in the PICC line & the mask went on; she didn’t even make any eye contact with me. I gave a big kiss and that's me, having to leave her again with the theatre team. I have never seen her like this before; it’s like she’s there somewhere but isn’t. #TeamLeonie 💔

More bloods were taken last night; we found out today that Leonie’s white cell count has gone up and she has gone downhill again. Another change & now going back onto the vancomycin antibiotic for the sepsis. Her vac ulta drain container filled up quicker than the prior; we are now on the 7th 500ml container which is equivalent to over 5 pints of this vile infection. They are trying to get Leonie in today for a brain scan, as she's still not herself. This time she will have to be sedated as she struggles in the MRI scanner after 20 minutes; they need a specialist anaesthetist to administer the sedative. She has started vomiting again, and nothing is staying in her stomach and is coming out one way or another. Another setback… and another sepsis clean-out theatre trip tomorrow. I really do not know what to say anymore! Or how she manages everything; it's beyond sad. #TeamLeonie 💔
