Q8 Be specific!! What 2 things did you learn tonight? #scistuchat

[Rebecca Taylor @MsTaylorECHS]

That’s awesome! #scistuchat https://t.co/uGHK3pOhHG

[Rebecca Taylor @MsTaylorECHS]

A6 A big misconception I see is that humanity is somehow the end point of evolution that all species are striving for. #nope #scistuchat

[Collin Sutter Bio @cdsutter123]

A6 people believe that evolution is random or by chance when in fact the process of natural selection is not random at all #scistuchat

[ashley mathieson @1aMathieson]

Q6 What are some common evolution misconceptions? #scistuchat

[Rebecca Taylor @MsTaylorECHS]

@willey_carly @pialliso Actual it’s the opposite. Evolution happens because mutations. Mutations just happen! #scistuchat

[ashley mathieson @1aMathieson]

Q5 How do we know evolution happens? #scistuchat

[Rebecca Taylor @MsTaylorECHS]

@pialliso They just happen whenever DNA is copied. Some are somatic so don’t effect evolution, some are germ line and do. #scistuchat

[Rebecca Taylor @MsTaylorECHS]

Interesting. So harder for the average person to observe? Never thought of it that way. #scistuchat https://t.co/FZ1DtQZq4n

[Darwin @EquationForLife]

Sure there is bacterial evolution for say drug resistance, but you're still relying on scientists telling you, unlike gravity #scistuchat

Q4 Why do so many people misunderstand evolution? #scistuchat

[Rebecca Taylor @MsTaylorECHS]

Yep! Every animal, plant, bacteria, etc share a common ancestor! #crazy #awesome #scistuchat https://t.co/ZW4NbwGcnb
