Just a reminder before the Premier's televised announcement that the Alberta gov't chooses to fund our public education system the least. That they choose not to provide the resources for our students. They love to talk about choice, and this is one they should be ashamed about.

Yes, we need more schools--we've been saying it for years--but those will take years to build.

However, we need solutions now to address the current issues like increased class sizes, lack of resources and support for special needs students, and teacher burn out.

While numbers are vague, it appears that the UCP will be directed $100's of millions to charter schools & private schools instead of that money going to public schools.
