@nz_voter It really tickles me how with all the real crisies going on at the moment (that latest weetbix price fixing thing is absolutely disgusting, to give one small example) people are up in arms and protesting imaginary offences like this ☝️
@ScootFoundation I found it bizarre when I came back from overseas how everyone was obsessively recycling and using beeswax wraps instead of gladwrap then would happily jump in the car to go anywhere even just down the road
@NewshubNZ It’s not nearly enough - missing frruit and dairy and lunches to name a few! Living on this would make you pretty unwell in the long term. She explained, in the original Reddit this is poached she’s a student, so just scraping by
@OpinionistNZ@nzherald No, obviously. The only solution is to keep cranking out high density state housing, which will house the most needy AND keep rents down. Guarantee this doesn’t happen under Nats. Hope I’m proven wrong.
@NMowbray23 Yes, agreed Nick the poor should be taxed less, as many other decent, progressive countries already do. Then they could JUST about afford to see the dentist. Say taxed 0% for the first 20k earned. With a higher % at the other end who can afford to pick up the slack
@coughlthom Should have implemented real changes, to rebalance our bizarre treatment of assets that is unlike any other functioning country. You know, the ones they’ve been recommended to do by various tax works groups for years! I’m so pissed they didn’t have the courage, yet again.
