I just released the first app I have ever written for beta testing, looking for some help with testing it - Thanks in advance!
Crateluv is an app that was inspired by the tragic events that befell Gene Hackman in Santa Fe. They had left one of their dogs penned up, and the poor dog perished because no one knew. In fact, Gene and his wife also perished.
After reading that news, we were headed out for dinner and had just placed both our boston terriers in their crates (their safe place, they love them!) and I got to thinking - what if we are in a wreck or something? What happens to the pups?
And CrateLuv was born.
Crateluv allows you to enter a list of emergency contacts for your crated (or even home alone) pets. As you enter email addresses and phone numbers for contacts, it contacts them and asks if they are OK with being an emergency contact for your pets. Once they accept, their information is added to your list of contacts in Crateluv.
Then, when you leave the house, you can set the GPS location of the crate. That's so when you get back, CrateLuv can automatically stop the timer so you don't start notifying contacts by mistake.
You also set how long you expect to be gone. If you haven't stopped the timer by then, it will start trying to reach you first, then starts down your list of contacts. You can control the order, and you can control how long it waits between contacts.
For testing, there is a 3 minute timer so you can play with it. You can also set custom times. When the timer expires, it will try to reach you using sms (if you gave it permission), email, and push notifications. If you don't respond, after 15 minutes (by default), it tries your first contact, then in another 15, your next one, until someone responds or it runs out of contacts.
If your phone dies, it still works. All the action is in the cloud.
When you sign up, you get a free month of premium service. Some of the features, like the automatic geofence turn off, having more than one contact, and other things, are premium. But all the basic functionality is free.
Please try it out, we are not live on the app stores yet, but both the apple store and the google play store have done preliminary reviews.
The way google beta testing works is that you have to join this group to be able to download it. You will need to use the email address associated with the play store on your phone.

@elonmusk How do we fix the stupid rules about water heaters? Tried to buy a common 80 gal one recently? You can only buy heat pump based ones. so you have to get two 50s. Because 55 or larger have to be more than 100% efficient. You read that right. 50 gal - $600 80 gal - $6,000
